Welcome...

Welcome Northern Vic Youth of The Salvation Army!

We intend this space to be a place of discipleship and fellowship where you guys can learn more about God and each other.

Most of the material we will be using is based on the Territorial Corps Cadets books so if you are currently a Corps Cadet (and I encourage you to become one) you will find some of the same stuff.

We plan on putting posts up regularly (about once a week) and we encourage you to read, think and pray about the lessons that we put up and then comment and get actively involved in a community discussion. Obviously we want this space to be encouraging and inclusive so just remember to be loving and kind when you post stuff. Different people have different opinions on issues and have had different experiences to you so be empowered to put your opinion out there but remember not to bag anyone out. Also be aware of your language, that it's appropriate and any comment of a racial nature is really not ok. But most of all we want you guys to have fun with this space!

Just to give you an idea of the things we will be putting up it will probably have some scripture (readings from the bible), some online discussion questions and some prayer points as well. Reading your bible and praying are spiritual disciplines that can sometimes be hard but we want to regularly encourage and remind you to do these things so that you can grow spiritually. It's a really good idea to pray with other people but sometimes we don't always get the opportunity to do that living so far away from our friends so remembering to pray regularly where you are at is also really important.

We would love to hear more about what you guys want to see or do with this space. Share stories about what you're doing at your local Corps or Youth Group. Encourage or inspire others to get involved in direct local application called mission.

Let's hear from you right now, let us know what you've done at your Corps or Youth Group since the school holidays. For those of you that went to Youth Camp let us know if anything you learnt has applied to your life since you got home and how are those plants coming along???!

Go!
